Men Under 30

If you are a man under 30 years of age with fewer than 2 children, it is vital to consider the following points.

  • Please do not take aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications or fish oil 7 days prior to the procedure
  • Please bring a pair of tight underwear or a jockstrap on the day.
  • Do not use any powder or deodorant on your scrotum on the day of your procedure
  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your procedure
  • Read, print and fill out the Patient Registration Form and Consent Form

Why do we ask these questions?

If you have never caused a pregnancy, there is a chance that you are infertile. About 1% of men are Azoospermic or in other words, 1 in 100 men that do not have any sperm in their semen. They are able to ejaculate but no sperm is present in the semen – that is they are already “shooting blanks”. It may be wise get a fertility test prior to considering a vasectomy.
